Going home soon!

Image
Oh yeah! Just 2 more days and we'll be well on our way back to Singapore for the holidays. Over the past few days, Nyx has also been developing her motor skills quite abit. She's attempting to hold her own milk bottle while i'm feeding her, rolling like a sausage on the bed and doing mini sit-ups when she's put in the car seat. Oh and before I forget to add, she's also started a very painful habit of screaming real loud when I ignore her attempts to hold a conversation with me. Check out this picture where she's doing the "peace" sign. haha!
check out some of nyx's videos here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sam8M8VgxoM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF-8QVCkapA

The day before yesterday I took little Nyxie to the pediatrician for her first vaccination. It was hilarious....... actually I was squirmish at first when the doctor pierced the needle into Nyx's right butt cheek. I though she would cry out in pain and agony but instead she turned to look at the doctor and started shouting at him, Wah hahahaha!!!! (she didn't cry at all even though the thick needle went so deep in) The doctor was quite surprised too at that. He went on to inject her left buttock with the second jab and she once again turned towards him and shouted, hahaha! It was really funny..... even the doctor started laughing. But I was so sad after that cos i saw her two injection wounds start to bleed, sniff sniff. Anyways, I was so glad the little girl didn't scream and wail and cry like I though she would. She now weighs 7kg for a three month old, whoa! The doctor asked me if I was feeding her anything else, negative. She's only taking in mommy's milk. Then

Can't wait to go back to Singapore

Yes! Just 12 more days to go and we'll be on our way back to Singapore for the holidays and Nyx will get to meet the rest of the family. We will be setting off for the airport in Bordeaux early in the morning, something like 5am..... wait for 4 hours in the airport at Paris to catch our flight back to Singapore and arrive at Changi airport at 7.20am on a Sunday morning, the 17th of December.

Nyx goes to school!

Image
Last Thursday we attended our first day of school together at the language center.  I was so proud of Nyx after class ended as throughout the  lesson she was so well behaved and never threw a tantrum.   The lessons are held every Thurday and Friday and last for 2 hours.   I was so relieved to finally find a class which allows mommies to bring their children along with them.

"The Swarm"

Image
Yesterday I took Nyx to see the pediatrician for her regular checkup and when we got to the waiting room, several others were there already.  Like I mentioned before, Nyx has started to become more vocal and this often attracts the attention of strangers.  This morning was no exception.  All I wanted to do was just find a seat and "stone" while waiting our turn as I was seriously tired from lack of sleep the night before thanks to Nyx kicking and punching me and guojun the whole night cos she just didn't feel like sleeping.  But Nooooo....... "somebody" decided to make friends with everybody in the waiting room that day, so very soon we had a SWARM of people surrounding us asking if we come from China, where on earth exactly is Singapore, how old is she, blah blah blah...... and telling me that they have relatives in Vietnam, my baby is very friendly (too friendly liao lor), very chubby, blah blah blah....... Finally it was our turn to see the doctor and he wen

Peking Duck Day

Image
How do you make Peking Duck for two? You don't! So i had to stuff my face with almost half a bird....... Poor ducky. Guojun had a craving for Peking duck and has been bugging me to make it the whole week so i spent almost 4hrs today just to cook this dish. It was all worth it though, hehe. But i'm really really stuffed now. Funny thing happened at the supermarket today, i just have to share it. Nyx has been getting more talkative lately and she happened to be in one of those moods today so when we were picking a duck for Peking Duck she started peeking out from the dark...... (ok i'm getting corny again). Anyways, she starting babbling in baby talk pretty loud and a few ang mohs started surrounded us, mostly old ladies. They were so amused by this babbling bundle and kept playing with her until I had to go back to the meats section to get another fresh cold duck. By the way, I was "stuck" in the hypermarket for 2 hours! Yes, just buying a duck.......... Next time

Day trip for Nyx in Bordeaux

Image
For the past few times we took Nyx out shopping and sightseeing she had very well behaved never creating a scene or screaming like she often does at home. So on Tuesday we took her Bordeaux to meet up with my friend Felicia and her partner Sam. She was so sweet as to bring me mooncakes and spices all the way from Singapore, thanks Fifi! Yesterday we took her out again to windowshop along the streets of Bordeaux. We were there on a mission to look for the one and only KFC around this area and we succeeded! After walking around for almost and hour and a half while "siam-ing" dogshit everywhere. Haha! Seriously, there really is alot of dog poop along the streets, even busy ones and the owners don't bother to clean up, yikes!

Miss you auntie Fanny!

Fanny left this morning for Spain and Nyx and I miss her already. We sent her off to the train station at Gujan Mestra in the cold weather, hate it when it isn't bright and sunny outside. Thanks che for keeping me company these past 2 weeks, miss ya loads already!

Weather turning cold

Image
The weather is getting colder and colder........ brrrrr....... When Guojun told me that the sky here looks like that of Gotham city in Batman I didn't believe him, till now. Grey skies just so ain't me, I miss the bright sunny weather, sigh. Only get to see that kind of weather on television, haha!

The beginning of my blog

Image
Yes this blog is a little late in the making but its finally here. At least I've been sending pictures and writing to most of you regularly keeping you updated about my life here in France, the birth of little Nyx and how she's been growing since I delivered her on the 3rd of September 2006. So it's been 3 and a half months since I've left Singapore to come live in France with Guojun and to tell the truth, I'm still missing home so badly and still can't get used to life here, sniff sniff. Its just nothing like good ol' Singapore being surrounded by family, friends, my doggies and of course, the FOOD! My mother-in-law flew back to Singapore 2 weeks ago after taking care of us and helping me through confinement and Fanny arrived to visit a week ago. Its just great to have someone else in the house with me during the day when guojun has to work especially when Nyx is in a cranky mood and just wants to wail.
