Birthday staycation at Salt Lake City, Utah

Nestled in a valley and known for its premium ski resorts and outdoor recreation, Salt Lake City also offers a great shopping and dining experience and each time that we visit this place I'm always grateful that we drove here and can pack all our shopping into the car without worrying about overweight baggage.

Car Review: The KIA Stinger

Image
I waited so impatiently to finally get to drive this baby around and I now fully understand what all the hype is about around the 2018 KIA Stinger GT . This high performance 5-door sports saloon is the first rear-wheel drive model that KIA has ever produced. Powerful Performance and Sound to boot Designed with passion fuelling the ideas behind its every detail, the Stinger definitely gave me a driving experience that displayed power, agility and practicality. The most powerful of KIA cars to date, this car features a twin-turbo V6 engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This smooth ride delivers 370 horsepower and with the engine room and dash getting extra insulation and padding that quiets the joints of the body pillars and frames, its no surprise how quiet and smooth the drive can be, unless you're playing your favourite tunes with the 15-speaker Harmon/Kardon premium sound system. Even the side mirrors and doors are designed to reduce noise and drag. This sound system e

Review: The LG G7+ThinQ

Image
Been using the G7+ThinQ by LG for the past 3 weeks and as an avid user of the iPhone, find out why I'm now sold onto the amazing camera features of this smartphone. The first thing I like about the G7+ is the fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone which I miss after I switched to the iPhone X because I don't have to raise the phone to my face in order to unlock the phone quickly. You might wonder, what's with the long name and the "ThinQ" at the end? Its basically LG's artificial intelligence platform that allows users to connect a number of its products with this feature together, so you could control your washer or access your refrigerator via your phone. All part of making your house a smart home. [caption id="attachment_1529" align="aligncenter" width="375"] The finger print sensor conveniently located below the camera.[/caption] After using the phone for some weeks now, I've truly fallen in love with the features of

PUTIEN at Kitchener Road: Red Mushroom Treasure adds more colour to the menu

Image
Stepping into the flagship outlet of PUTIEN at Kitchener Road, I immediately felt very welcome with the waiting area where I was greeted by the warm and friendly service staff which then reminded me that this is a Michelin star restaurant so it comes as no surprise. Nonetheless it still brings on a smile to be in such a welcoming environment. This particular outlet was the first to open in the year 2000 and just recently underwent renovations to reveal this bright and spacious decor. [caption id="attachment_1522" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Here at PUTIEN Kitchener Road and they've just celebrated their 18th anniversary![/caption] [caption id="attachment_1523" align="aligncenter" width="375"] This is actually just a fraction of the awards they've received.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_1524" align="aligncenter" width="375"] Loving the new look of this outlet and the design of t

21 Days Reset with Body Inc.

Image
Taking on a detox program for 21 days might seem daunting for many. But if you think about the time we spend putting toxic stress on ourselves through modern lifestyle, its makes perfect sense to commit to a detoxification program once in a while. I recently completed the 2OneReset by Body Inc. and I have to say.... I only wish I'd done this earlier. Even for someone like myself who is considered very healthy, I was flabbergasted to realise how much toxins there were in my body because of sugar and processed foods consumption that takes time to be eliminated from our systems. Although I had a visceral fat level of 3 on a scale of 1 to 12 (1 being on the extreme good end and 12 on the other end), I was motivated to bring it down further to a 2 or 1 by incorporating the treatments and natural supplements from Body Inc. to safely achieve that. My yearly visit to Japan 2018

Image
[caption id="attachment_1442" align="aligncenter" width="376"] The reason I’d travel here each year.[/caption] I love travelling to explore different places and discover new things. But for me to travel long hours to the same place multiple times, there has to be a very good reason..... and here she is- my sister and my only sibling. I always knew I’m a very lucky girl ever since I was little because I’ve been gifted with such an amazing older sibling who looks out for me and shares the same views and beliefs. She’s the reason why I emphasise so much about sibling love to my kids and I credit this wonderful human being for shaping me into the person I am today. (Yes mom and pops, you guys too!) [caption id="attachment_1446" align="aligncenter" width="376"] The list of all the craziness we were up to all week![/caption] I’d go through anything with you (about that naked onsen though...) and I know we’ll have fun through it al

Muscular Dystrophy Awareness 2018

Image
Held in conjunction with World Duchenne Awareness Day, the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore (MDAS)  held the Live Above Carnival at The Cathay yesterday with the aim to create more awareness in our community for Muscular Dystrophy. There were sharing sessions by beneficiaries of the association to help us better understand the daily challenges they face and even a showcase of the inclusive sports like Boccia and Power Soccer, and even a Wheelchair Simulation Course that helped us engage with the beneficiaries. Gracing this event was guest-of honour Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development who unveiled their new logo to mark the rebranding of the MDAS.  It truly was an inclusive event and the kiddos had fun at the carnival, learning and understanding more about how our friends who face physical challenges overcome many difficulties and still lead a fulfilling life. Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic condition that results in the increased weakening and breakdow

Skincare range by Recherché surprisingly good

Image
Been using the skincare series by Recherché for over 3 weeks now and I’m really pleased with how it’s helped me manage the sebum levels and pore size on my face.  What caught my attention and is something I look out for in the skincare products that I use for myself and my family is how  the brand does not use parabens, formaldehyde-forming preservatives, silicones, artificial colorants or alcohol. Yes these ingredients are still widely present in many products out there. This 100% sustainable plant-based skincare brand does not test on animals and the best part is.... it’s proudly made here in Singapore. The plant-based ingredients put together in their skincare series works in synergy with one another to bring the greatest effect on our skin and I’m comforted to know that it’s free of any harmful chemicals or tested on any animals. Specially formulated for Asian skin, Recherché’s products are s afe for use even if you have sensitive skin or if you’re pregnant. You can even rest assur
