PUTIEN at Kitchener Road: Red Mushroom Treasure adds more colour to the menu

Stepping into the flagship outlet of PUTIEN at Kitchener Road, I immediately felt very welcome with the waiting area where I was greeted by the warm and friendly service staff which then reminded me that this is a Michelin star restaurant so it comes as no surprise. Nonetheless it still brings on a smile to be in such a welcoming environment. This particular outlet was the first to open in the year 2000 and just recently underwent renovations to reveal this bright and spacious decor.

Knowing that they've maintained their status as a Michelin Star restaurant for 3 consecutive years since 2016 to date, I know my tastebuds are in for a treat for today's food tasting session. And the dishes I'm excited to try today are part of their seasonal special with the rare Red Mushroom as the star ingredient in some of their latest dishes offered on the menu.

The Red Mushroom

This rare and mysterious red mushroom is harvested from the deep mountains of Chang Ting in China and is packed with nutrients that can help lower bad cholesterol levels, aid in detoxification and prevent allergic reactions. What's even more interesting about this rare edible funghi that is also crowned "king of mushrooms" is how is can only be harvested within four short hours in the early mornings of summer. This elusiveness further gives it that magical quality and its no surprise that its hailed as the "Wild Treasure of the Mountains".
